Weather and Seasons in Korean

Let’s start with the very first thing that is “What is the word for season in Korean?”. The word for season in Korean is 계절 (gye-jeol). The season of a country depends on certain factors i.e; temperature, weather conditions and most importantly the Earth’s position in relation to the sun.

South Korea has mainly four seasons- summer, spring, winter and autumn.

-- Summer = 여름 (yeo-reum)

-- Spring = (bom)

-- Winter = 겨울 (gye-eul)

-- Autumn/fall = 가을 (ga-eul)

Now the next question that comes in your mind is when these season starts and when these season ends every year.

-- Spring = Between April and June

-- Summer = From July to August

-- Autumn = Between September to November

-- Winter = Between December to March
